I thought Contract Hire & Leasing was only used by large companies, is this correct?

No, any business can use contract hire etc. Whether you are a small business with one car or van or a large multinational company with a very large fleet, we can have any number of new vehicles delivered to you at an extremely competitive cost.

2 Do I need to be VAT registered?

Many of the packages are aimed at vat registered businesses but there are also packages available for non-vat registered businesses.
3 So, you only deal with Business Users?

Not at all, we can put together a package for the Private motorist, it's commonly known as a PCP (Personal Contract Purchase). However, this title is slightly misleading as you don't have to purchase the vehicle or make any large payment at the end of the contract. You can return the vehicle with nothing further to pay. The choice is entirely yours.
4 Your prices are excellent, are these 'grey' imports or other imported vehicles?

All our vehicles are supplied directly from the Manufacturer within the UK and are to UK specification.
5

Why should I consider contract hire/personal contract/lease etc?

Business and personal contracts are a very popular, cost effective method of acquiring new vehicles. Plus, due to our discount rates, we can provide your new vehicle at a much lesser cost than you could obtain personally.

6

What benefit is there to having a contract with City Contracts instead of a contract via my local Dealership?

We specialise in this market only and can supply any make and model of car or commercial vehicle from any manufacturer. We work alongside many of the large, well known UK dealerships in a double capacity:

1. They utilise our services when their customers require contract hire and leasing. Our rates are often more competitive than the dealerships own finance companies and they approach us to place an order on behalf of their customers.

2. If you approach us directly for a quotation but would like your vehicle from a particular dealership, say, in your own area - we are happy to oblige. As long as your chosen dealer can match our discounts (which is often the case), your vehicle will be delivered from them. On the occasion that your preferred dealer cannot match our discounts, we will have your vehicle delivered (a) from the manufacturer as a direct order, or (b) from another UK franchised dealership.

7

Can you explain the delivery in more detail?

It may be the case that you are in Southampton or Aberdeen and your vehicle is delivered from a dealership in Manchester. The reason being that at the time, no other dealership in the country could match their discount. You still receive a new vehicle, prepared to the same high standard as your local dealership. This method of acquiring your new vehicle ensures that YOU receive the best possible contract price.

8

Is there an additional cost for this?

No. Delivery is free of all charges, at all times, no matter the distance. *If the vehicle is due for delivery off the UK mainland, we regret that due to insurance restrictions that delivery will be to the closest port/ferry terminal to the destination island.* Please note; All vehicles are normally delivered on a transporter. Occasionally, if a vehicle is not transported but driven, the delivery mileage is deducted from your contract.

9

If my vehicle is delivered from a dealership 200 miles away, what implications are there over Servicing etc?

All servicing etc is carried out at your local, preferred dealer ensuring your local dealer does not lose out on service business. However, your vehicle can of course be serviced at any franchised dealership within the UK.

10

What happens at the end of the contract, do I need to return the vehicle to the dealership?

No, your vehicle will be collected by an appointed company. You will be contacted prior to the contract expiry date and a date will be set for collection.

11

What does my contract cover?

On a Non Maintenance contract - road tax for the contract duration, free delivery and collection, manufacturers warranty, including breakdown recovery and AA/RAC cover. On a Full Maintenance contract, all of the above plus servicing and tyres/consumables for the duration. Please note that punctures are not covered.

12

I'm unsure of what type of vehicle I'm after but I have about £300 per month to spend, can you help me?

Certainly. We can input your preferences into our computers i.e. monthly spend amount, contract length, full or not maintenance and annual mileage and every single vehicle within this banding is printed out. This is called a Rate Book and they do help when people are a little unsure on choice!

13

Must the contract be over a certain time period?

No. Again, you are in control. Most contracts begin at 18 months and can go up to 5 years. However 3 years is the average preferred. Occasionally, we are able to do a 1 year contract, unfortunately these are rare though.

14

I need to keep my monthly payment to the absolute minimum. Can you advise how this can be done?

A quotation with low annual mileage, over the longest time scale and with no added extras is your best bet for a low monthly payment.

15

How much will I be charged for a deposit?

Whatever your monthly rental is, multiply it by 3. If preferred, we can do an initial rental where you pay 1 payment of your rental in advance opposed to 3 but your remaining payments are set a little higher to justify the lower amount initially paid. We can send you a clear and precise explanation of Payment Profiles, as we appreciate these can sometimes be a little confusing.

16

I'm concerned about personal tax liabilities due to having a company car, can you explain?

Certainly. We have entire page dedicated to this subject.

17

I know I can order any make/model of vehicle but what about colour and extras etc?

The vehicle colour is entirely your choice, as is metallic paint & pearlescent paint. The specification is also your choice. You can also add any extra (if available from manufacturer) like Air conditioning, CD player, Headlamp Wash Wipe etc.

18

19

Print out our finance proposal and order form, complete it and return it to us via fax or post along with your latest accounts (or if Personal Contract, last 4 wage slips and copy driving licence).

We apologise that e-mail cannot be used with the Order Form, as we require the order document to be personally signed.
